How to Set Up the Slack for Zendesk Integration
Interact with Zendesk tickets direct in Slack
With Zendesk’s integration for Slack, you can view and interact with your tickets without having to leave your Slack workspace. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps required to install and get started with this integration.
What you’ll need
- A Slack workspace you can install apps in
- Admin access to a Zendesk Account
Install the Integration
Log in to your Zendesk account.
Click on the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar menu
You’ll be taken to the Admin Center page. Click on the Apps and integrations link.
Click on the Marketplace button and search for “slack” in the integrations marketplace.
Open the Slack integration page and click Install.
In the modal that appears, choose the Zendesk account you want to link to your Slack workspace.
This will take you to your Slack workspace page. If you’re not logged in, you’ll be asked to log in. Make sure the right Slack workspace is selected and allow Zendesk to access the workspace.
When you click Allow, you’ll be taken back to Zendesk. Enter your Zendesk subdomain there and allow Slack to access your Zendesk account.
Voilà! You should receive a Slack notification saying your Zendesk integration is installed.
Invite Zendesk to Your Channel
To receive messages about your Zendesk tickets, you need to invite the Zendesk app to a channel. Open the channel where you want to receive messages, and enter the slash command /invite @Zendesk
.
You’re now ready to receive messages inside your preferred channel.
