We've got you — here are suggestions and templates to make it easy, whether you'd prefer to inform during install by our inform team functionality or after by Slack, by email, or both. Also, no worries if you don't get around to informing your team prior to using Allma for your first incident. 80% of customers simply add team members to an active incident and the team easily figures out how to use Allma on the fly since Allma guides your team through an incident.
Inform during Allma install
During our install flow, you can easily search for team members and send them a message via Slack that will inform them of Allma and how the tool works. We've pre-written a message for you, in case easiest, and you can always personalize it.

💬 It’s difficult to figure out where we should discuss an incident or to find all of the various discussions that are occurring across a bunch of different channels, some private

👩🏽💻 Context switching sucks, during the incident it's distracting to leave Slack to find our wiki with our incident process and playbooks

Reaching out as we’re beginning to use Allma for resolving incidents. Allma is a Slack app that will help us route and resolve our incidents faster by making it clear who’s doing what and keeping everyone up-to-date with what is happening. Allma also plugs right into the tools and incident process we already use.
Why are we starting to use Allma?
Tl;dr to make our lives easier. Having a tool that orchestrates our incident process for us will help us work together better and faster, rather than context switching between lengthy wikis, emails, and the rest of our tools. Everything related to an incident is communicated and automatically transcribed for us, creating a timeline that we can use after an incident to learn from what happened.
Here are some of the things Allma can help us with:
- Automatically communicating what is happening during the incident across our Slack workspace.
- Providing clear direction on how to run the incident process smoothly.
- Doing the manual work for us so we can focus on problem-solving vs orchestrating.
- Keeping track of what we’re learning and the progress being made.
- Bringing everything related to the incident into one place in Slack so we no longer have to jump around.
- Focused and faster conversation, leading to improved decision making.
- Timeline generated for us so we no longer need to spend the next day preparing one and we can learn and get better.
What is an incident?
An incident is any event that disrupts our operations and is causing suboptimal outcomes. It can be a break, a bug, a defect, or a suboptimal aberration from normal operations. An incident can be an event on our systems, software, services, or applications.
