🛠 Emoji shortcut configuration guide

Overview

Allma's Emoji Shortcuts help you move at the speed of thought. Configure your own custom shortcuts in Slack so any time you react with an emoji, Allma will complete a task for you - such as:

• Create tickets in Linear
• Update deals in Salesforce
• Summarize long threads in Slack
• Create or add to documents in Notion
• And many, many more

Installation instructions

1. Install Allma using this link: https://app.allma.io/install/welcome
2. Follow the onboarding steps in Slack

Instructions

1. Go to Allma's App in Slack
   
2. Scroll down to Add another shortcut
   
3. Select any action in the Slack section of the Pick an action dropdown (i.e. "Gather context")
   
4. Type the name of the emoji you want to use in the Pick an emoji dropdown i.e. 🤝 :handshake:)
   
5. Click Assign
   
6. 🥳 You're done! Now go into any long thread, react with to a message with 🤝 emoji and follow Allma's prompts

Zapier configuration guide

1. Go to Allma's App in Slack
   
2. Scroll down to Add another shortcut
   
3. Pick an action from the Zapier section in the Pick an action drop down (i.e. choose "push to ticket system")
   
4. Start typing the name of an emoji from in the Pick an emoji drop down (i.e. type 🎫 :ticket:)
   
5. Click Assign
6. Nice! You've set up the Allma portion of the shortcut, now you need to configure the Zapier portion. Click Set up
   
   1. Copy your API key
      
   2. Choose from one of the pre-configured Zapier templates, or create a new Zap and select Allma for the trigger (i.e. "Push messages to Linear tickets")
      
   3. In Zapier...click on the Allma Icon, and then click Choose app & event
      
   4. Make sure the event is the same as the one you chose in Allma (i.e. "Push message to ticket system") then click continue
      
   5. Next, authenticate your account by clicking Sign in or choose your account if you've configured one of thse before
      
   6. Paste your API Key in the window that pops up. Click continue
      
   7. Make sure your Allma user is selected then click continue
      
   8. Next, click into the App you are sending the message too (i.e. Linear)
   9. Choose an event (i.e. "create issue") then click continue
      
   10. Authenticate by clicking Sign in then click continue
       
   11. Fill out any fields that you want to customize. For example, the title should be Message text and the Description should have the Message Permalink. Then click continue
       
   12. Lastly, test your trigger, notice that this will create a ticket in Linear
