Allma has been a distributed team from our earliest days and plans to stay that way. We are an organization built on trust, respect, and openness. We support each other and hold ourselves accountable. We focus on getting to truth, calling out our biases and assumptions, seeking to understand, rather than seeking to be understood. We bring kindness, enthusiasm, and positive energy to all that we do.
Who you are

These principles are meant to guide our way of operating with each other, our approach to building Allma, and our decision making process.
Bias for Action
Speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk-taking and speed-to-market over exhaustive study.
We consistently make decisions in light of our current and future customers. We know our customers and seek their input to inform what we build. We deliver features that customers will use.
We own the outcome, larger than our task or job, to ensure success for Allma and our customers. Responsible parties (RPs) are trusted to make project decisions and push initiatives forward.
We push through challenges and finish projects strong. We are determined to see our work help customers and make a difference in the world.

Thoughtfully Disagree and Commit
We respectfully challenge each other’s thinking and drive towards the best outcome for Allma, our customers, and each other without focusing on assigning blame or taking undue credit. We don’t play devil’s advocate just because. Once the team has settled on a decision, we support that decision with integrity, even if we disagree.
Learn and Loop
We value shipping small amounts of customer value quickly, learning, and iterating towards a better design. We are never done learning and always seek to improve ourselves and the Allma product. We are curious about new ideas and act to explore them.
Courage and Integrity
We value courage to make the hard call or the right decision for our customers, for Allma’s long term benefit, and for our employees. We always act with integrity towards each other and our customers. We do the right thing even when it costs us personally.
Open and Transparent Communication
We align our thoughts and actions. We communicate ideas, plans, and problems early and often. We accept that plans may change after we communicate them and adjust accordingly.
Diversity and inclusion
At Allma, diversity and inclusion are core to who we are, what we value, and the impact we seek to have on technology. Allma is building a collaboration tool that serves the entire organization. Our commitment is to help everyone across the organization work through incidents together. Our team needs to accurately reflect the diversity of the people we are building for. Alongside this, our Operating Principles, particularly open-mindedness, empathy, and curiosity drive us to seek diverse perspectives to learn and evolve.
As we work to build a diverse and inclusive company (reflective of our customers and our principles), we actively partner with diverse talent pipelines for our recruiting, as well as ensure we proactively reach out to and engage underrepresented groups in our recruiting practices. At Allma, we also hold ourselves accountable to working with partners — bankers, lawyers, accountants — and have made a commitment that our partners have underrepresented professionals on their team directly advising us.
